First Project is a Success!
I'm thrilled to say that my first short-term project is successfully completed!
Soon after opening Sunstone Business Services, Renee Alexander, Principal and Owner of BBT Architects, approached me about managing a high-level staff transition: After eight years of dedicated service, the Business Director was moving on to new adventures.
Renee and I collaborated on a plan that best served BBT, and in late July I began training with the outgoing Business Director to learn the firm’s technology, processes, and procedures. During that time, we developed a job ad and job description for a new Office Manager, I assisted in interviews and hiring details, and I took on the operations tasks of the firm as the Business Director transitioned out. By mid August I was running payroll, facilitating client billing, processing AP and AR, and assisting with HR duties. On September 1, the new Office Manager started and I spent the month training her on everything I had learned.
I am so pleased to say that the Office Manager is now operating independently, and that through the transition everything ran smoothly and no balls were dropped. It was a whirlwind of a 10 weeks but the result was worth it!
Being able to provide BBT with support to get through that transition while allowing Renee to continue her project and leadership duties is why I started Sunstone Business Services. My mission is to provide business services to help organizations meet their goals, support their employees, and strengthen their community while allowing business leaders to focus on what they love. I feel like this first project encompassed that mission and it fills me with joy to have been a part of it.
Working with Renee was such a pleasure. I felt valued, heard, and respected and I genuinely enjoyed our time together. I look forward to more of it in the future!
